Overall, this is a nice location! I have had 1 or 2 experiences that were subpar and my order was not accurate. However, the service is usually very quick, efficient and the quality of my bowls is great 95% of the time 😊 I usually order ahead and pick up. Keep up the great work!

While Playa Bowls’ prices are higher than local competitors, we find that the rewards program balances everything out. The location on Bleaker Street in Newark has limited, metered parking and is at the edge of Rutgers’ campus. We usually visit at night to satisfy cravings and parking is better at that time. As for the products, ingredients taste fresh and are usually always in stock. The staff is professional and pleasant to interact with as well.

I think the pictures are pretty self-explanatory, but please look at the amount of açaí in my bowl. This is very disappointing. For the price, I expected the bowl to be filled properly, especially if the açaí is supposed to make up about half of it. Instead, there was barely any açaí and it was mostly toppings.

I eat Playa Bowl Often, (see my reviews) this is the saddest Playa Bowl I have ever been served. Lacking in fruit. My base is mostly açaí when I ordered a mucho mango, with a SPLIT base. I’m very disappointed, the only reason I gave 3 stars is because the staff was decent. They didn’t have the energy of other Playa’s-could’ve been tired. Only 2 workers, so it took forever, just to get this bowl that u can basically see through. Most PB’s are reasonable with the fruit portion. My bananas are browning and I only walked 3 blocks away. It’s unacceptable. I won’t be back, even out of convenience because PB isn’t cheap, so wasting money on something I could slap together myself isn’t conducive of an enjoyable experience
